Choledochal Cyst pada Anak Umur 8 Bulan
Choledochal cyst is a dilatation of extrahepatic billiary duct with or without intrahepatic billiary duct dilatation. The main diagnostic tool for detection of a choledochal cyst, especially in childhood, is ultrasonography. In adults, computed tomography can confirm the diagnosis; however, endoscopic retrograde cholangiography (ERCP) or magnetic resonance cholangiopancreaticography (MRCP) is the most valuable diagnostic methods and can accurately show cystic segments of the biliary tree.
We reported an eight months-old child with jaundice, anemia, tea-like urine, and damp feces. She underwent ultrasound examination which was interpreted as choledocal cyst and confirmed by CT of the abdomen. The patient later went to surgery, however she died of septic shock.
